For a change we talk about Punjab – another election-bound state. For people who know less about Punjab or stay outside, I present a quick overview of the demographics, geographic regions and the history of elections.

However, while analyzing data of 2012 and 2017 state assembly elections, some very interesting facts emerged from the data sets. The arithmetic calculations indicate that we are well heading for a hung assembly in Punjab in the 2022 election. But remember – it is politics which rules in the end, not the arithmetic.
