The upcoming HUZURABAD By Poll Is Giving Sleepless Nights to BJP |WDTDS| Episode 15

Huzurabad (Mandal) is a small town in Telangana. The population of this town is less than 75,000. Huzurubad falls under the Karimnagar district. The population of the Huzurabad Legislative Assembly constituency is a little over 2 lakhs and constitutes of 5 mandals.

Eatala Rajender of the TRS (Telangana Rashtriya Samiti) had been winning this seat for 4 consecutive terms since 2009. He was a founder member of the TRS and a minister in the KCR Cabinet. About 2 years he started to fall out with KCR, who finally removed him from the Ministry in May 2021. Eatala Rajender left TRS and joined the BJP on 14 June 2021. This led to his resignation from TRS and the Huzurabad by-poll.

Huzurabad is a unique position. The incumbent 5-time MLA from TRS has joined the BJP to fight this seat once again. Huzurabad in is Karimnagar district. The MP from Karimnagar is little known Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the State President of the BJP, a first-time MP. He is in the midst of his 55-day pad-yatra called Praja Sangram. On October 2, Smriti Irani addressed one of his mega rallies in a close-by town – Husnabad in Siddipet district.
This episode covers the usual predictable tricks being used by BJP. If the voters go on religious lines, BJP will tend to benefit.

On the other hand, TRS is sparing no effort to retain Huzurabad. Three Ministers have been camping in Huzurabad for the past 3 months. The TRS government’s flagship scheme Dalit Bandhu was announced keeping Huzurubad in focus. ₹10 Lakhs is being given to every Dalit family for getting self-employed. TRS knows that the central government can never match such a largesse.

At present BJP appears to be on the backfoot and the leadership is not too clear of the next steps.

The fight in this election is expected to be bitter. We may also witness new lows in the country’s political discourse.

आगामी हुज़ूराबाद उपचुनाव में भाजपा की रातों की नींद हराम हो रही है

हुज़ूराबाद (मंडल) तेलंगाना का एक छोटा सा कस्बा है। इस कस्बे की आबादी 75,000 से भी कम है। हुज़ूराबाद करीमनगर जिले के अंतर्गत आता है। हुज़ूराबाद विधान सभा क्षेत्र की आबादी 2 लाख से थोड़ी अधिक है और 5 मंडलों का गठन है।

टीआरएस (तेलंगाना राष्ट्रीय समिति) के ईटला राजेंदर 2009 से लगातार 4 बार इस सीट से जीत दर्ज कर रहे थे। वह टीआरएस के संस्थापक सदस्य और केसीआर कैबिनेट में मंत्री थे। करीब 2 साल से उनकी केसीआर के साथ अनबन शुरू हो गई, और आखिरकार मई २०२१ में उन्हें मंत्रालय से हटा दिया । ईटला राजेंदर टीआरएस छोड़कर 14 जून 2021 को भाजपा में शामिल हो गए। इसी के चलते टीआरएस से उनका इस्तीफा हो गया था।

हुजूरबाद एक अनोखा मुकाम है। टीआरएस से मौजूदा 5 बार के विधायक इस सीट से एक बार फिर लड़ने के लिए भाजपा में शामिल हो गए हैं। हुजूरबाद करीमनगर जिले में है। करीमनगर से सांसद हैं बंडी संजय कुमार भाजपा के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष, पहली बार सांसद हैं।वह प्रजा संग्राम नामक अपनी 55 दिवसीय गद्दी यात्रा के बीच में हैं। 2 अक्टूबर को स्मृति ईरानी ने सिद्दीपेट जिले के हुसनाबाद के एक करीबी शहर में अपनी एक विशाल रैलियों को संबोधित किया ।

इस प्रकरण में भाजपा द्वारा इस्तेमाल की जा रही सामान्य उम्मीद के मुताबिक तरकीबों को शामिल किया गया है । अगर मतदाता धार्मिक आधार पर जाएंगे तो बीजेपी को फायदा होगा।

दूसरी ओर, टीआरएस हुज़ूराबाद को बरकरार रखने में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ रही है । तीन मंत्री पिछले 3 महीने से हुज़ूराबाद में डेरा डाले हुए हैं। टीआरएस सरकार की फ्लैगशिप योजना दलित बंधु को हुज़ूराबाद को ध्यान में रखते हुए घोषणा की गई। स्वरोजगार पाने के लिए प्रत्येक दलित परिवार को 10 लाख रुपये दिए जा रहे हैं। टीआरएस जानती है कि केंद्र सरकार इतनी उदारता की बराबरी कभी नहीं कर सकती।

फिलहाल बीजेपी बैकफुट पर दिखाई दे रही है और नेतृत्व के अगले कदम भी साफ नहीं हैं।

इस चुनाव में लड़ाई कड़वी होने की उम्मीद है। हम देश के राजनीतिक विमर्श में नए उतराव भी देख सकते हैं ।
