The five state elections over – now it’s time to dig into the results. The two national parties, BJP and Congress, are both losers in terms of seats. BJP down by 50 seats and Congress by 85.

The story doesn’t end here. If we look at the national scenario of State Assemblies, BJP has been slowly losing seat share. The gain is of the regional parties.

There are many states which will go to polls before the 2024 General Elections. I try to to visualize the outcomes based on today’s political sentiments.

Lastly, at the risk of being proven wrong, and rather too early in the day, I extrapolate the same arithmetic to the 2024 General Elections. The results are very surprising.
